Allegro offers Group Piano classes like no other!
At Allegro Music & Dance Academy, we have singing lessons for all skill levels — beginner and advanced/older singers!
Our music academy is a space for kids and teens to come and learn the fundamentals of singing such as breathing, diction, and posture from our expert music teachers that support the development of proper pitch training, keeping tempo, and vocal progressions.
Allegro has offered group piano for 20+ years!
Our group piano instructors specialize in teaching the students to play the piano together in unison, similar to a small orchestra! The joy that students experience in creating music as a team is unmatched!
- Our piano lab is equipped with six professional-level digital pianos
- Each student plays on their own piano
- Students become part of a piano family, learning and making music with their piano buddies!
Why choose group instead of private?
Learning an instrument can be overwhelming for beginners. Learning with your peers in a fun and encouraging space makes a world of difference! Students learn how to play their first song on the piano together in their very first class–along with experiencing rhythm patterns, pitches and other foundational concepts.
- Within the group, students are able to learn everything they would in private lessons!
- The piano class environment means that we focus on fun, playing music games and building friendships.
- These benefits just add to the foundation of learning good technique, music theory and note reading.
The real bonus of learning in the small group setting is that students will naturally begin their musical journey as part of a “band” of musicians, playing together and listening to each other musically.
Your child’s future in school band or orchestra – or even in their first garage band — will be light years ahead of their peers because of this experience. Group piano also helps students develop teamwork and leadership, by contributing to a positive and nurturing space in the piano classroom.
Is my child right for group piano?
- You know your child best.
- Because we see so much success in group piano, we recommend trying it out for a month or two.
- Our instructors will always communicate with you regarding your child’s progress.
If your child needs more one-on-one attention or more detailed instruction, the instructor will make those recommendations. However, most of our students love thrive the fun and exciting environment of group piano class.
What if we can’t decide — can we do both?
YES! Many students prefer to start out with both group and private instruction! It’s a best-of-both-worlds situation for a young learner — individual attention, as well as friendships and fun. In both cases, the commitment is just month-to-month — so you and your child can continue to evaluate and make the best choice for you.
